Welcome to Brazil 2016 #brazil

If you live  anywhere near the GTA you will know there is always something going on and it’s almost impossible to find out whats going on and where. Never mind being able to get to the all the cool events, especially when working a full-time job.  Thanks to Kirill of Aperturistic Life we are able to have a peak at this event. Kirill did a great job capturing the event and as always great shots. Like I’ve said before, share your photos and I will post them. As much as I would like to I can’t get to most of them. Email photos or link to photos to candidtoronto@gmail.com. Any let’s get on to Welcome to Brazil or  Bem Vindo Ao Brasil 2016

Welcome To Brazil 2016

Taking advantage of the Summer Olympics taking place in Brazil this year, Organizers held an event
called Bem Vindo Au Brasil that captures the main pillars of Brazilian culture. Bem Vindo Au
Brasil took place on Wednesday, June 15th, 2016  at Lula Lounge. A couple of the organizers posed for a photo OP.

They hoped to attract 200 attendees through ticket sales, a silent auction, merchandise and sponsorship. I don’t have the final number but from what I know it was very successful.

The theme incorporated Brazilian nightlife with vibrant colours, traditional Brazilian costumes, Brazilian Samba dancers, Capoeira performers and Brazilian music.

Since the Rio Olympics 2016 was the initial inspiration for this event, we aim to support a charity that has the same dedication and passion for the sport. As such, Bem Vindo Ao Brasil will raise funds for Special Olympics Canada—a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability through sport. Special Olympics Canada has been operating since 1969 and now more than 40,000 children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability in Canada, participate, on average, in at least two Special Olympics programs per year.
