Once again KXCountry (Radio stations 94.7fm and 96fm put on another great event, this time it was a concert in Toronto at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. The event was presented by Pizza Nova who were awesome enough to also provide pizza during the concert.
The concert started off by having our favourite radio personalities saying hello to the packed house and introducing the three acts that would entertain the country fans. The only bummer about the entire event was that the Phoenix security wouldn’t allow my DSLR into the venue, so I had to shoot with a rinky dink point and shoot camera.
So here’s the first low quality image, still you can get a feel for the event, I just don’t understand why we can’t take pictures with a good camera at these events.
I wanted to get some shots of Toff and Melissa but they always had a crowed around them, I waited too long then poof they pulled a Houdini and vanished. Can’t blame them, they have to get to bed so they can keep me awake during the morning commute. (they are on the air at 5:30 am)
Here is KX94.7’s Linda Martelli (click here for my radio personality captures)
Dani Strong a Country Singer from British Columbia rocked the Phoenix. She sounded amazing but what stole the show for me was her stage presence, she is a energetic performer who interacts with the crown. Spunky as all that!! I can’t wait to see her again. Dani opened at Bright Lights, Big Country presentation at the Phoenix in Toronto on June 4, 2015.
Tebey is a Canadian Country Music Singer/song writer out of Peterborough Ontario. Tebey truly was my favourite that night, he sound exactly like I hear him on the radio. He is a great performer and has a commanding stage presence. If you get a chance to see him, don’t miss it.
The Eli Young Band was the headliner and they didn’t disappoint, they had a fantastic stage light show and their country was rock’n. At times I think their set was too much for that venue, lights were to bright and the instruments kept us from hearing Eli’s amazing voice. If you have any concert.
All in all this concert was a lot of fun and I can’t wait until the next Bright Lights, Big Country event.
